Another 5-Play MS question

Because some games have a higher percentage of losing hands, the free ride
frequency is moved up. Probably joker two pair is the best example of this.
By playing proper Multi-Strike strategy you can win or push slightly more
than half the time. Some games are cut back slightly to bring the total ER
under 100% since some jurisdictions require it. (20-10-6-5 Joker 2 pair and
8-5 super aces are the most common of these.)

You will notice that the difference between the normal single line game and
Multi-Strike ER is greater for 9-6 jacks than NSUD (and other deuces
games). Pairs and trips are usually the correct hold in deuces but pairs
are often wrong in jacks on early lines.

Subject: [vpFREE] Another 5-Play MS question

Is is true what I've read, that the Free Ride option appears more
often, the worse the inherent EV of the game? In other words,
playing something like 8/5 Bonus or Ugly Ducks, the free Ride
appears more often than in 10/7 DB or NSUD?

The (intended) effect, apparently, was to "balance" the games
offered on a given machine so that the EV was constant across the
entire platform. Of course, one wonders if the truly insane optimal
strategies were taken into account, or if the damage done by playing
regular strategy vs. MS optimal was greater in one class of game
than another (for instance, it seems like the basic error in JOB and
variants thereof, of holding a small pair instead of two high cards
(on Line 1), is VERY costly).

It certainly seems like the free ride comes up less often--FAR less
often--on the best games. Is this a fixed frequency, or can it be
set independent of the paytable? It has been mentioned that
the "advance" frequency is adjusted by means of the Free ride to
occur at 50% for every game. Does this mean that the EV of a given
MS game is close to its "regular" equivalent, and that if we say "MS
JOB" we are referring to a game with a known and fixed EV, because
the Free Ride frequency is fixed also? In other words, does every
9/6 JOB game have the same Free Ride frequency and thus the same EV?
