Anonymity

What is going on in Las Vegas, the land of positive video poker. First
our fearless leader stated that he would no longer post his real name,
and encouraged others to do the same. Then he decided to retire, so
that a new nameless, therefore anonymous moderator could take over.

The Administrator Emeritus told me that he wished he had
administered anonymously from the start, and counseled
me to consider doing it anonymously. By so doing there is
some insulation from those who want special treatment and
from those who aren't happy with a particular post or with
overall policy. Personal security and casino retaliation
concerns are also lessened.

I took the job on an anonymous basis and I intend to remain
anonymous.

With all due respect, with 5000 folks on this list, you will be "outed" sooner or later, especially if you are a Las Vegas local and/or have been a frequent poster. I suggest you bury your identity in a post that hardly anyone is likely to read -- maybe a long math/statistics discussion or a long "trip" report? Then some of us will figure it out. P.S. I cannot believe it's Rob Singer. My initial guesses are TomSki or Harry Potter, oops, Porter.

I would like to heartily welcome you, New Administrator, and thank you
in advance for the work you are going to do!

I have absolutely no problem with you remaining anonymous however
difficult it will be to maintain. Remember, we're all game players on
this board and love a challenge.
