I resemble that remark, too! Because of my back, when at an upright machine,
it's much more comfortable for me to sit with right foot crossed across left
knee, placing my rather large foot in between the machines. I'll always try
to pick the left-most machine in a bank for that reason, or at least one where
the machine to my left is open. Should someone sit there, I'll scrunch around
(technical term!) so that my foot isn't in their "space."

One of my pet peeves is uprights with insufficient room between
machines for my size 12's to fit in my half of the space.vpFae
what bothers me a lot (besides smokers and people who play one coin at a
time!), are these totally inconsiderate SLOBS who think they are playing
VP in their living room at home and feel inclined (actually reclined!)
to place their feet up on either side of the machine!
