I always thank them with a smile and a good tip. They stop and ask me if I need anything faster than I could possible drink the last drink.

They walk quite a bit slower when they're given a gratuity with each round...
And some cocktail waitstaffs we don't mind actually coming to visit for a minute. I'd put out my own personal "Top 5" waitstaffs, if I was sure I couldn't be identified.. .at least two of the five are outside of NV. (Rio, Mandalay and M would be the three in Vegas..also personally fond of HR but those girls are a little older).
