Annoyances While Playing VP

I agree completely with hitting button to stop the noise. I don't want anyone near me to know that I've hit. These people who let the creits add up one-by-one act as if they did something special. "Look at what my skill produced". Give us a break.

I don't mind posting an occasional jackpot picture since nobody can identify me unless they were actually there.

But when I am fortunate enough to jackpot in credits I also hit that button as soon as possible. Why would you want onlookers to know you've just won money? If you cash out soon afterwards you are in a vulnerable position. Share the pleasure of your jackpot with family, friends and/or here, not in public with strangers.

For that reason, I wish every machine I played was in a secure high limit area. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. And I am frequently looking over my shoulder to see who is watching. Sometimes I simply stop playing and sit there until they move on. If you read an earlier post I made about how a man I had never noticed quickly cashed out my mother's machine as I was moving her (in a wheelchair) you'll know why.

My policy now is to stay low profile and always be aware of who is around me. And if you hit and it's a sizeable handpay in cash, ask them to pay you at the cage or in high limit.

I hit a button too, although in my case it's mostly because I want to
move on to the next hand as quickly as possible.

Having said that...

... wow, how do you know that? Are you a mind-reader? Maybe that's
what it would mean if *you* sat there and let the credits count up, but
have you considered that maybe other people are just enjoying themselves
and having a good time? That's still legal, right? Even though you
yourself obviously forgotten how to do so, judging by your vpFREE posts.

common guys/gals, are we that jaded..I've been playing for years and still like to take a second or two while playing to look in the distance to rest my eyes and return to reality...what did you guys do in the old days at Sams with the giant bowls on the full pays with quarters screaming bloody murder-jump off the bridge....( I know, you put a cup under there, just like I did). Yikes!!!

Have to disagree with this (at least on my wins). I'm not showing off...Sometimes I'm running short on $$ and just want to kill the time a bit before plunking it back in (which is the case quite often!) Sometimes I'm looking around for my drink or my husband and am not really paying attention to the credits racking up. Sometimes I just want to watch the credits roll upwards. And sometimes I WILL just hit the button.

Never realized this annoyed people quite so much.
