One of the most annoying (to me) occurences frequently encountered while playing VP, is listrning to the loud dinging while a multitude of credits slowly accrues to SOMEONE ELSE'S machine. This is particularly frustrating, when I, playing accurate strategy, cannot complete a trip, and the clueless ploppie sitting next to you has drawn quad aces.

At those times it is necessary for me to exert maximum self-control,
to avoid hitting the other player's max bet button. No matter how
tempted I might be to do so, in the interest of self preservation,
I refrain.

When I'm fortunate enough to see a big hand on my screen, I always immediately hit max bet. I do this for three reasons; 1) I don't necessarily want to share my good news with the other players at
the bank, 2) I don't want to disturb the rhythm of my playby waiting
for the credits to accrue 3) I don't want to listen to the racket.

Do some others feel this way as well?

I go one step farther (big mouth that I am) and ask them if they knew that by hitting the button they didn't have to wait so long between hands and that it would speed up the game for them?

You can usually tell who is experienced and I shut up figuring they know what to do but what to really "feel the moment" from the newbies who truly don't know.

No one has barked at me so far for doing it.
