Annoyances While Playing VP

Buy ear plugs and live and let live. I happen to like to listen to the sound of the credits being awarded.

Sorry Babe,

I sit there and grin while my

machine clangs away and racks up a big hitter.

On the other hand, I do appreciate

everyone who does not annoy me with his or her good luck. That’s awful isn’t it?

One of the most annoying (to me) occurences frequently encountered while playing VP, is listrning to the loud dinging while a multitude of credits slowly accrues to SOMEONE ELSE'S machine. This is particularly frustrating, when I, playing accurate strategy, cannot complete a trip, and the clueless ploppie sitting next to you has drawn quad aces.

At those times it is necessary for me to exert maximum self-control,

to avoid hitting the other player's max bet button. No matter how

tempted I might be to do so, in the interest of self preservation,

I refrain.

When I'm fortunate enough to see a big hand on my screen, I always immediately hit max bet. I do this for three reasons; 1) I don't necessarily want to share my good news with the other players at

the bank, 2) I don't want to disturb the rhythm of my playby waiting

for the credits to accrue 3) I don't want to listen to the racket.

Do some others feel this way as well?

~Babe~

Babe, I agree mostly. I do occasinaly listen to at least part of the big hits adding up if it's been a particularly bad session.

what I hate even worse is the person next to you that has to hit the button
1credit
2credit
3credit
4credit
5credit
every freaking time......I have to get up and move after awhile if they keep doing it (unless I'm on a machine that's paying really well and then I'll grit my teeth and stay)

···

Oh my gosh, the person slamming a button down hard drives me nuts. I usually fervently hope they soon lose all their money and leave.

Since full pay machines are often scarce, it's not like you can easily move if someone is doing this nearby.

Another pet peeve of mine is overhead spotlights that machines are positioned under that make it difficult to read the screen. I mean, it's a lighted screen, you don't need a blazing bright light to help you see it.

Not as much of annoyance, but one thing I've noticed with some new slant machines with otherwise nice large screens and playing area, is they put all the buttons on the flat level area. Which might seem like an okay idea to the game makers as it's directly under your fingers, but this also means that drinks get spilled directly into the button mechanisms and guess what -- the button action gets sticky of course!
