And it's.........

Well, I hope they put in good VP but I am not holding my breath. I live 47 miles from the Majestic Star versus 5 miles from the Rosemont site. They had better get better traffic control as there are a number of convention facilities right next door!

Rosemont. Glad they could keep it in the "family." And this

Someone please explain this to me. Why are there so many parties
interested in opening a casino in a state that has a 70% casino tax??
Is there something else going on that I'm not aware of like a repeal
of Blago's tax? OTOH maybe if there is no oversight the casinos can
just get away with robbery, like VP machines that only pay 80%.

First of all, the 70% tax is scheduled to be repealed when the 10th
casino opens. Second of all, even with a 70% tax, the casinos are
still profitable, even though they can't get anywhere near the rate
of return they were getting.

There's a little hope in Isle of Capri, since it comes from LA, where
the casinos are very competitive.

On the other hand, the nearest Isle of Capri (in Bettendorf, Iowa)
has mostly 98% VP (Illinois Deuces, 8-6 Jacks, 7-5 Super Aces, 8-5
Super Double, 9-6 DDB, etc.)
