This is another of those "get all thirteen quads" promos (see Scott
Krause's column). Here's the EV calculation, using some admittedly
rounded numbers:
First quad takes 425 hands to get
Second quad takes 13/12 x 425 hands
third quad takes 13/11
fourth quad 13/10
fifth quad 13/9
sixth quad 13/8
seventh quad 13/7
eighth quad 13/6
ninth quad 13/5
tenth quad 13/4
eleventh 13/3
twelfth 13/2
ninth 13 (!)
So without bothering to do the precise math, it looks like we reach
the halfway point (our seventh quad) in about ten cycles, then it
really slows down as it takes over 31 cycles to complete the
remainder. Figure 41 x 425 or 17,425 hands.
17,425 hands of VP is just shy of $22,000 coin-in. If we divide the
$100 bonus into that we have an EV boost of about .45%. Any game of
JOB caliber (or better) is now playable.
Now, if anyone who happens to be in the joint for any reason (like
having crashed their car outside) could just check the pay
schedules...
BTW, I wonder if anyone on either side of the promo knows what an
excruciating task it is to get all 13 quads?
NOTE!!!! IF, and ONLY IF, you could have multiple cards in play at
once, this would turn into a great play. This should be investigated.
