I was lucky enough to see ZZ-Top on Tuesday June 7th. It was at the
Flamingo Outdoor venue in Laughlin. They then made it up to the Las
Vegas Hilton.
Luckily, several folks also made it to Laughlin for gambling and the
show. It was the best show I have seen in a very long time!
It is hard to believe these three guys have played together for 35
years. Just how many other bands have done this? How many trios?
A guitar player, a drummer and a bass player.
In Lauughlin, my bud snagged comped seats through an Edgewater
offer. Let's see, right center, where Billy Gibbons stands, third
row on the aisle. The sound was just fine, a slight ringing in the
ears after the show. Vocals were clear.
The show lasted about 1 1/2 hours. One encore set with three
songs...guess which ones! They covered two Elvis songs, Viva Las
Vegas and Jailhouse Rock (which is actually on the Fandango album, my
ZZ vinyl)
The show even included dancing girls, who came out of the cheap seats
down the aisles.
Anyone else catch this show in Nevada?
