Everyone is different, I guess. It doesn't take long before I mentally scream "ENOUGH" on most threads, especially if it's a lot of bickering and people talking past each other. I use the "filter by subject line or content" feature of Outlook quite a bit.

Here's a suggestion. I wish someone would write something about the
incredible inaccuracy of Hollywood movies and television, when it
comes to casinos and gambling, in LV, Reno, etc. Most people in
LV are not gambling/drug addicts, alcoholics, thieves, mafia hit men,
pimps, and prostitutes.
To give a very recent example ... have you see the movie The Cooler?
It was totally ridiculous. Who dreams up this stuff, and how does it
get funded? I expect a movie to be about something "unusual and
exciting", but I also expect it to be reasonably plausible. The
Cooler was about a guy with such bad luck he was hired by the casino
to walk around and pass on his bad luck to players near him! Give me
a break.
It's always surprised me that the mayor and casino chiefs don't
complain about the inaccuracy of movies filmed in LV. I personally
know many people who will never visit LV ... largely because of the
negative impression left by these movies.
I wish someone would set the record straight.

the 9/6 Jacks, which is available at $1, $5 & $25 levels. They have
two banks of $1 8/5 Jacks progressives, one bank of $2 progressives
with 8/5 Bonus, three or four banks of $.25 8/5 Jacks progressive and
3 machines of $.05 10 play with 10/7 DB. Almost forgot the bank of
$.25 DW with a 6 way progressive...which is positive most of the time.
And they haven't barred me yet

I agree with Don; still lots of desirable things at
the GN. Give the new owners some time and the offering
is more likely to improve than deteriorate. About the
only thing I wish ASAP is the installation of the
convenient TITO into their 5c triple/five/ten play as
well as the MG 5c with 10/7 DB machines. I played them
last week and the usual occurred when I cashed out --
the wait was as long as 40 minutes. Of course, this
procedure was inherited from the previous ownership.
As for avoiding being 86'ed at the GN, Don -- try
hard not being dealt RF consecutively three or more
times ;)!

Sorry, got cured of both blackjack and craps some time ago. Neither
are a consideration when stepping into a casino.

1. I'm not a local and other places that cater to locals seem to have
better vp options.
2. I can't stand the tedium of JOB. Even if I could I'd still play the

I agree that Downtown is getting worse. The VP is still okay. But last month, we had trouble finding a dice game for under 5 bucks, even on Freemont Street. Thats as bad as Atlantic City! The Four Queen's had a 2 dollar blackjack table, but all the other's were 5 dollar's. Sahara doesn't have it's dollar blackjack games any more either.

I've had a great time playing the 10-play 10/7 at the GN. Never
stayed there, but played enough to get some cashback & a couple free
buffets.
Never tried the DW though (never seen them or looked for them). I'm
wondering what the pay table is. Is there a consistent strategy that
you use when playing them (say, play just as you'd play NSUD for
instance), or do you need to switch strategies as the progressive
changes?
