Ameristar mailers

I visited Ameristar for the first time in a about a year a week ago and played some 9/7 Double Bonus. I never played enough previously to receive a mailer from there and was wondering how good the monthly mailers were. Any idea would be helpful thanks.

In my opinion, Ameristar monthly mailer are a sad excuse for comps or
marketing. My wife and I used to play at Ameristar. While it is a very
nice casino and has by far the best buffet in KC their comps are TERRIBLE!
We no longer play at Ameristar. I used to be a HET (Harrah's) hater;
however, after playing there one time (with minimal play) on nickel VP
my wife and I received comped rooms in KC and Vegas. We still receive
month food and free play offers as well. In fact we just got back from
our six day stay at The Rio in Vegas that was FREE. As much as we used
to like to play at Ameristar we no longer both wasting our time and money.

400-500 base points a week on a consistent basis will get you $25-30/week

There is a fairly high threshold for bounce back at Ameristar KC. You pretty much have to be at Star Club level to get anything. They do now have an option to take your comps as cashback at 50% of the comp value. Given that you have access to a nice buffet for lunch and dinner as a Star Club member, that turns out to be a pretty good option and ups your overall cashback percentage.

The downside for Ameristar for me is that the benefits are only good there. The option to earn/use on any of the Harrah's properties is a nice option. However that and room comps in Vegas are about the only attractive thing about Diamond level benefits in my opinion. And save Tunica and Reno, I know of NO playable VP in Harrah's properties anymore under $5

The Star Club is good at other Ameristar casinos, Council Bluffs for example. They will call KC and verify you are a member then full access. I haven't tried but I would expect SC members could get comped rooms as well. The problem is since they sold/traded the Reserve to Station they no longer have a casino/hotel in Las Vegas even though they are HQ'ed in Vegas (go figure).

Poor pay tables, poor comps, poor cashback have just about shut down our play at the local casinos. We have lost SC status at Ameristar but still have Diamond, at least for the next few months.
