Love the VPFree site and this board. I check it every couple of days
for any news! On the Ameristar page, it is listed as Cashback: 120
Points = $1 (0.104%), when actually it is 600 points now =$1. Also
the earned comps are at the same rate. My buddy and I are trying to
figure out how they are computing the discretionary comps, but no luck
so far. He seems to be earning at a much higher rate (black card)
than I am (Silver) We always go to the booth after a session and
collect, but I didn't last time and we will see tonight if they roll
over or not. KC VP is not what it used to be, but we are holding out
hope that it will improve soon!
Ameristar cashback
Yeah, I need to update the VPFree board for Ameristar to reflect the
change in points. We have always been pleased with the comps at Am.
Back when they had decent VP machines and we were Star Club level
players (both my wife and I) we racked up more comps than we could
use. After consuming all we could in house we went by Arthur Bryants
for take out until we were sick of it. We are still have black cards
but expect that to slip when these expire.
You are right, the KC market for VP is looking grim. The few good
machines around are in casinos which have lousy cash back and comps.
Interesting article in the KC Star a few days ago, the monthly report
on the local casinos. The interesting part was Ameristar has slipped
quite a bit in both the number of gamblers and the total revenue but
have INCREASED the bottom line -- total profit. What does that tell
you? They have fewer customers but are ripping the ones they do get.
Related, they now have the tightest slots (includes VP) in the KC market.

Are you sure about that, 600 pts = $1 not $5, I just called Ameristar
St. Chas. and they confirmed that it is still 600 pts = $5 (0.104%)
for VP and double that for slots. If it were $1 then thier cashback
would be almost nothing (0.0208%), they could advertise 20x cash back
and it still wouldnt really matter.
