American Casino Guide draft VP article-help requested

I concur with Jean's statement. I read John's response (that Strip
quarter games really stink) and that's valid too. The way to handle this
is to note that in general, if you're a quarter-dollar player, the best
plays are off-Strip. John correctly mentioned Palms, Montelago, and GVR,
but really ALL Station and Fiesta properties have Optimum Play machines.

True, but the Fiestas and most Stations are notorious for bad room offers, or none at all. For low-rolling visitors, free rooms + food are huge factors.

Sam's Town, Coast offstrip properties, and a few others offer far better
video poker for low rollers than do the other locations mentioned.

Good point, and these properties send out pretty good room offers.

If
you are mentioning individual properties, please include Silverton,
which will have an excellent selection of low-roller games within two
weeks.

Good point.

Thanks Bob!

Valid point --- but only if explicitly stated. Your article is about
video poker and it is unfair to assume that all readers use the same
decision-making factors. Vegas locals will buy the book as well, and
many tourists want to play at more-than-one casino but they only need
one room per trip.

Also, if you're going to be using tenth-of-a-percent precision, 10/7 is
100.2%, NOT 100.1%. If it bothers you to say 100.2% on a game that is
"only" 100.17%, use the plus sign, as 100.1+% or 100.1%+. You used this
technique accurately with FPDW. Why not use it for 10/7 as well?

This has not been my experience. As a mostly quarter player, I've
gotten some nice offers from Stations and some OK offers from
Fiestas. The difference is that one usually has to get established
over several trips of consistant play before the good offers start coming.

For low-rolling visitors, free rooms + food are huge factors.

John

True enough, but then in your draft you include Palms, Montelago, and
GVR while warning the reader that they are tough on room comps. To be
consistant, perhaps Fiestas and Stations should be likewise included
along with whatever caveat you deem appropriate.
