Amazon vp books

Just for fun I read some reader reviews of vp books. It seems all the
books I looked at had 4 to 5 star ratings. I don't read any of the
books anymore, I know everything there is to know and I'm sure of
this because my wife says I know it all. Some comments about Amazon.

1. The books I looked at had 4 or 5 star ratings. only looked at a
few. I guess you just write a book and fire over a couple good review
from "reader" and your in business.

2. Most writers were gambling writers. However, I found one writer
who wrote books about accounting and surviving bankruptcy. I wonder
how many of us need to purchase the bankruptcy book along with our vp
book.

3. An editorial review of Millon Dollar Poker informed me that Dancer
came to Vegas in 93 with 6 Gs and a 6 year old car. 10 yrs later he
had $1,000,000.00 and a Mercedes. Not bad. By the way one can
purchase this book used or new for $3.75 and up.

4. Dancer building a million dollar bank in 10 yrs reminds me of the
guy who went into Vegas with a Chevy and a $100 in his pocket. Two
days later he left Vegas in a $200,000 vehicle...........He went home
in a Greyhound.

Good Morning, Jeep. It's always nice to chat with a fellow
know-it-all! I do have some comments about amazon.com to add to
yours.

It's not quite that simple. Though I'm reasonably confident that
most people who are intelligent enough to write a book, which is
then published, would be capable of circumventing the restrictions.

In order to post a "Reader Review" on amazon.com, though one may use
a pen name to do so, a "real name" with a credit card number
matching that name, must first be provided to Amazon. W/O this
information, a review will not be posted.

Since many people, myself included, are loathe to reveal this type
of private information on the Internet, the opinions of some well
informed readers are not made available.

I do fully understand the reason for this rule. If it were not
necessary to document your identity, some unscrupulous authors could
flood the reader review section with raves from themselves and other
family members.

IMO, this makes the laudatory review by "Publisher's Weekly" all the
more impressive. They are an independent reviewing organization,
with no axe to grind for any vp author.

However, I found one writer who wrote books about

accounting and surviving bankruptcy. I wonder how many of us need to
purchase the bankruptcy book along with our vp book.

Not a bad idea, Jeep. Especially for those of us that do not adher
to the sound principles espoused in the book.

Hey Babe

That joke posted for the group that doesn't know there are actually
buttons on tv to change channels or what a broken record is. Some
don't know what a phone booth is. Geeze, I have played vp with black
& white tv. And....in those days of Pong, Space Invaders and poker
machines; the tv was a tv. I remember an outfit in east actually put
tvs in the poker game cabinet. At 39 my knowledge is far beyond my
years.

Hi Jeep,

Though you are but a kid, chronologically, I'll vouch for your
knowledge of things ancient.

Did you also learn your first VP computer strategy on Stanford
Wong's "Video Poker Analyzer" software, as I did? I still
remember squinting to decipher the "green" cards on a black
backround, on my 1985 black & white Apple.

Hey again Babe

I believe my Wong vp was a Villa Crespo or something like that. I
used it on my "best' computer; a 286 Packard Bell. Still used the 286
as a work station till it died last year. I did have an Apple 2e
with a bj counting tutorial. Not a Wong product. I think I paid over
two grand for that Apple. By the way, I liked the way the Wong game
played. However, if you wanted to analyze a particular pay schedule,
the machine had to work for a couple hours till you got the answer.

Ahhh the good old days.

Cheers..Jeep
