Please do not direct newbies to look at the
Singer approach. They may be misled.
Singer is about as controversial as 2 + 2 = 3.1415

I think the concern was not for sending people to Robs site, but for sending
Newbies to Robs Site.
To the inexperienced, Robs Siren Song can sound mighty inviting. Until
someone has the tools and experience to evaluate those things that he
supports, they should be protected from dangerous things.
Would you send a child to a drug dealer and ask that child to come to their
own conclusion if the drugs are for them ?

I tend to agree ... and doubt little harm will result.
A playing style that depends heavily on luck and requires an
unlimited bankroll has little appeal to the average player trying to
gain a realistic modest edge. It ("Strategy") also nicely
illustrates how even an intelligent player can lose focus in the face
of mounting losses.
In that vein, you really have to admire a player like Ednar who can
stay the course and play under control during difficult times ... I'm
pulling for you buddy!

I just finished Rob's book "The Undeniable Truth about Video
Poker." Very interesting. Not an epic that will go down in the annals
of gambling history, but worth reading. Some new Ideas to ponder, and
some ideas I will ignore. But the key word here is "ideas."
I don't quite get the analogy that somehow we superior, perfect
play video poker players have a sacred duty to protect those
childlike, ignorant newbies from such an evil person as Mr. Singer
who's trying to hook them on some evil, druglike strategy. I think
most adults vp players smart enough to be reading the material in
this chat room can take care of themselves.
There are tons of books on video poker with tons of advice(some
good, some bad) that isn't 100% the way the video poker Gods say to
play, but millions of gamblers read and learn something from them
anyway.
Mr. Singer seems to stress in his book a lot of compassion for the
players who think that just because a game is positive, and if they
play computer perfect, they will win lots of money in the long run.
We all know it ain't necessarily so.
For the most part, his advice is nothing more than one person's
point of view of how to play a casino game for fun, and if you are
lucky, and yes skillful, for profit. Check out a few quotes from the
book. (I don't think he'll mind)
