I was at Rincon Saturday sitting next to an older gentleman who was playing 5 coins a time in a $5 single line Jacks or Better game. After playing for at least a half hour he was down to $5 in the machine. Instead of cashing out he played the $5. He drew a royal. The machine didn't freeze up and as the man sat there stunned another player had to remind him to hold the five cards before pressing the draw button. His only statement, "Hey, I won $1,250."
Always Play 5 Coins
If he had taken the time to insert another $20 to play max coin, the RNG surely would have not been on the same point when he hit the Deal button.
If he had cashed out, he'd have left with $5 instead of $1,250.
I fail to see how the title, "Always Play 5 Coins", makes any sense here!

One day, I was playing a 8/5 bonus dollar machine, and I'm down to $2. My buddy says..."cash out, always play 5 coins" . Screw that I cry out. hit max ...2 pair ...its 4 coins....hit max....flush....its 20 coins....hit max a few times and hit a straight flush, then quad aces ....cashed out for $700!

One time I had somehow or other gotten down to 25c on NSUD. Played it and got a decent payback, kept going and eventually cashed out a $100.
