We were just told we won an Alaskan cruise through the Venetian, due to
cancellations of people higher on the list than we were. Just wondered if anyone
else from the list is going?
This is an example of where keeping your eyes open and contacting a host can
be helpful. Venetian gave away 50 cruises to its top coin-in people for
play for a couple of months, something like April to May. I had heavy play, but
I knew I was lower than the top 100 people. But I also knew that a lot of
people would not take the trip or cancel, since for one thing the trip
involves departing from Vegas, and for someone from the East Coast for example, it
might be cheaper to fly directly to Seattle and pay for the trip yourself,
than get a W2G for over $3000, plus pay air to Vegas without a lot of notice.
Two years ago the same thing happened. In both cases I knew when the
playing period was, and played heavily during that monthly period.
In both cases I also talked to my host several times, saying I definitely
would be interested in the trip, and would be available for last minute
cancellations.
And fortunately as they went down the list, eventually it got to me.
