Advice on the Rio

I will be staying at the Rio in late April, they gave me 4 days free,
and I was wondering if anyone plays there. I have read the database
entries and seen around the net that they have pretty high minimums on
their table games. My wife and I mainly play blackjack and VP, with
some craps thrown in if I can find the time. Any comments or advice
will be appreciated. (p.s. I know the Palms is across the street)

Also, any thoughts on the Gold Coast next door? I seem to remember a
elevated walkway, but I'm not sure.

Thanks, Jeff

There is no elevated walkway from Rio to GC. You will need to use the west
exit to Rio, walk across a parking lot, cross the street, enter the GC
parking structure and cross to the east GC entrance.

GC will have lower minimums on their tables than Rio and better vp. Check
the database for vp inventory.

I just returned from the Rio, and sadly have to report that the vp
has gone from bad to worse. They no longer have the .25 sneaky queens
which was a 8/5 bonus vp game with a random Queen doubler that was
fun. I suggest walking over to GC and Palms next door. To get to GC
just cut through the garage, ther is a sign showing the entrance.

Can not answer some of your questions but for sure, blackjack at the
Rio is near the worst to be found in Las Vegas. Bad rules, bad
penetration. Better at the Palms, much much better at the Palms
high limit room.
