Advice on first LV trip

I need some advice for a first 3-day weekend trip to Las Vegas for
two couples looking to play a lot of .25 FPDW. After reviewing the
FPDW cross-directory and LV database, I was thinking of Sam's Town.
We recently spent four days at the Silver Legacy in Reno and managed
to average $20K per day (combined on one card), which got us fully
comped for the room, food, and a few other odds and ends charged to
the room.

We are hoping to achieve the same in Las Vegas for a Thursday nite
through Sunday stay. We would manage at least $12 - 15K per day.
Most of our meals would be the chicken tenders and fries or buffet
variety, but we would like a good steak dinner (or better yet two or
three). We don't care about gourmet food. Would Sam's Town be a
good match with our goals and preferences? If so, how should I go
about booking the room? For a first visit can I just call a random
host and ask to have the room reserved at the casino rate, with our
play to be reviewed at the end of the trip?

Any advice, tips or suggestions on other alternatives would be
greatly appreciated.

Sam's town is a great place. We stay there every visit to Vegas. They have
some FPDW.
They are good at comps (usually 3 nights free and some free food ) after one
or two visits. They would probably do as you suggested. Book at casino rate
and review at end of stay.
The best steak dinner is at Billy bob's restaurant within but it is pricey.
Worth it for an occasional treat. THe buffet is great.

Sams is great! As you see on the directory, they have good vp, they
are player friendly. With your level of play you will get rfb. They
have large nice rooms their also........Good Luck!

I would like to point out that Sam's Town also has free shuttles to
various parts of the strip and downtown areas. Dick Mck.

Good point. Sam's Town is quite a distance from the strip or
downtown. I expect you will want to see other parts of Las Vegas,
especially if this is your first visit. Boyd, who owns Sam's Town,
also owns the Fremont, California, and Main Street Station downtown
and Stardust on the strip (did I miss any). They run shuttle busses
throughout the day to these locations (or close by) plus other
destinations on the strip. Schedules are posted at the rear of the
casino (outside) or pick up a copy at the hotel desk.

If your purpose for the visit is to play VP until you puke and never
step foot outside in the 100+ degree heat, then Sam's Town is about as
good as it gets.

Not to get off the subject, but you mentioned a "directory", which
directory might this be. Never heard it mentioned before. Thanks.

directory might this be.

On left side click Links, then Casino Data base then Las Vegas
