Advantage VP play?

I was debating whether to write my latest experience at the Prairie
Band Harrahs north of Topeka. They have fast $ and quarter machines
with AA AND PE. I have decided to share my story and await the
flaming my style of play will incur.

AA = All American
PE = Pick'Em
ATM = Automated Teller Machine

I was playing AA and PE on the quarter level and was down $500. I
moved to the dollar machine and lost another $1000. This was all the
cash I had on me so I went to the ATM and took my $400 limit out. I
went down and played the machine on the other end of the $ machines.
This was next to a couple of Diamond level players that were playing
AA only.

I sit down and the lady says "Machine 5 not doing good for you?" It
took me a couple of seconds to realize she meant the other machine I
was playing. I told her that it was taking all my money so I decided
to get a change of location. I play about $350 of my money through
AA and PE, and I finally get a 4OAK in AA. I move over to PE and it
is actually giving me everything below Full House. After I'm up
about another $300 dollars, I get the 4OAK in PE for $600, which is a
hand pay. I can see that the lady next to me is starting to get
annoyed because she is just feeding the machine and not even getting
a 4OAK in AA. I play a couple more hours on AA and get the credits
up to $1100 and then get another 4OAK which pays out coins because
the machine doesn't go over $1200.

About this point, she notices that I don't play with a card and tries
to convince me that I should use one. (Me and Harrah's don't get
along, so I absolutely refuse to get a card at a Harrah's.) She
tells me that she is working toward a big-screen TV and how it is
triple points day. I just smile and tell her I don't like a card.
She then thinks that I don't want a record for IRS purposes. Well,
this is good as long as I don't get a W2-G. Then she asks why I
swipe the machine. I explain that I am holding all cards when I get
dealt a pat hand. Earlier she asks if I am superstitious because I
like to rub the pay table and the position I needed a certain card.
I tell her no, I just like rubbing the screen.

At this point I am about even, so I switch to "Triple Trouble" to see
if I can get a quick triple pay. I get it on the first spin. First
triple spin - $15. Second triple spin I get orange orange orange
orange orange on payline 1 for $750 dollars. The third spin gets
$0. I get a handpay for $790(you get $25 for getting the three
devils). The next thing I know the lady says that your not supposed
to win on that game. I just smile over my jackpot and think yeah
this is probably a 95% game, but I am currently gambling. She then
tell me to sit down and stop smile after I get paid. I tell
her, "Yes Ma'am". This was about the time I hear her husband remind
her that she is playing the correct plays on the correct game. I
remind them that the PE is 99.95%, she just tells me that that game
is too hard to learn.

I cash out my credits, also a hand pay and I end up up $750 on the
day. My forth straight winning session. Of course, I keep track of
my overall for the year which is currently $-1500 exactly(I don't
remember whether the "-" goes before or after the "$").

FWIW: If a person does not have a card, give up trying to convince
them to get one if they blow you off more than 1 time. It really
isn't any of your business and besides, they may have a valid reason
for not wanting to play with one. And besides 2, AA is already
positive, why do I need the casino tracking me as well.

And maybe you expect to be flamed because you didn't double down (up?)
on that ATM withdrawal?

Nice session, dipy ... that sure woulda brought a smile to my face.
You're welcome to take a perch along side me any time. And I'll even
cheer on those Triple Trouble devils for ya.

(Well ... maybe you might give that screen rubbing thing a rest while
playing with me?)

1 Question....
If you don't get along with Harrah's, why do you play there ?

2. Question....
If you don't get along with Harrah's and play there anyway, why don't you use
their card and take them for whatever they will give you ?

3. Question...
What is a valid reason for not playing with a card (other than not wanting to give short play at a primary casino) ?

4. Question....
Why do you not want the Casino tracking you ?

3. Statement....
You are an adult and you know the percentages. You have made an informed decision to play the way that you do. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Not much self control there Jean. This looks strangely like a response to me.

Curiouser and curiouser ...

If so, A.P., then she raises the bar on enigmatic posts (you come in a
close second though).

Sorry I was "mysterious." I was merely referring to the fact that he wasn't using a slot card. Except for the reason someone else mentioned, not wanting to mess up your average by playing lightly one day, I can't see why anyone doesn't use a slot card. I agree with someone who said that the best revenge on a casino that done you wrong, is to get everything you can out of them.

I have never heard of slot club records being used by the government to incriminate someone UNLESS he was a politician and/or indicted for some money crime that slot club play might have some bearing on or it had to do with drug trafficking/money laundering.

In More Frugal Gambling I give some information that may shock some of you. Casinos are keeping records and/or filling out forms on some gamblers even if they don't use a slot card!! Less than a month until you can read this full explanation.

I have decided to exert an equal amount of self-control in not
responding to your response to the above-referenced post, other than
to remark that someone reporting his success while playing slots
(NOT video poker), while deliberately NOT using a slot card, is
roughly equivalent to, "I played roulette at the Garbage Scow all
weekend and won big time, even though every hour I tore up a $5 bill
and threw it on the floor."

My drunk uncle Mickey used to give us similiar trip reports every
time he came back from a bout with the Illlinois riverboats.

Anyway, I felt I just HAD to not respond to this one.

I don't think any of us need to read a book to find out that currency
transaction reports (CTR) have been required by the U.S. Treasury Department
for many years now. The responsibility for filing these reports rests with
the Casino and not the player. Often, the player is not even aware that the
reports have been filed. These reports are available to many government
investigators including Department of Justice, Treasury and Homeland
Security agents. There are consequences when casinos fail to follow CTR
reporting requirements. This has been well publicized for years.

VPV - I'm not sure if your comment was in argument of Jean's post, in
support of it, or just some sideline trivia.

In any case, I can't imagine a scenario in which use of a slot club
card has any bearing on a currency transaction report. I may be
mistaken (and I can be pretty dense at times) but I highly doubt that
cumulative cashouts while your card is active are used to initiate
reporting.

I believe that casinos transactions that might result in a currency
transaction report on a player are restricted to those what require
producing an ID on the spot. Thus, the only concern that exists in
using a slot club card is if you intend to produce ID in an alternate
name when any reporting is involved.

Of course, anyone involved in any illegitimate enterprise in the
casino would clearly be prudent in avoiding a slot club.

And I thought I was going to get called on going up in denominations
when I was down 1/2 royal on a quarter machine or the fact that I was
not always playing "+" VP.

I don't find that a little superstition bad. I usually have my lucky
gold plated Peace dollar that fell off my money clip(real lucky
huh). I hide the last two cards in Pick'Em (PE- I don't like the
abbrev. PKM because Pick'Em already has two words just use the first
letter of each word.) when I start with 3OAK. I forgot that I
received 4-across while playing PE on that trip and when I get this,
I just BANG all buttons and ignore the results. If I don't get a
4OAK in a while, I will start rubbing that line, and the straight
flush line, for a couple of seconds.

Another reply I got was whether I allowed this lady to put one of her
cards in my machine. I would not if she asked because I don't feel
that is is right(PERSONAL OPINION ONLY).

BTW: My main reason is I am not too sure of Indian casino regulations
and I don't want advantage play recorded there. I use card in every
other casino I go. In fact I have quite a collection of Las Vegas
cards. My next trip will be to the Hilton in Vegas if they keep
their slot club up.
