IMO, "advantage VP playing" isn't a thing of the past, and never will be as
long as there are vp machines around. It may not be as lucrative as it was in
the past for some players, but the general principles of selecting good
machines, playing them optimally, and taking advantage of promotions remains,
and will remain, valid. Even if positive plays disappear altogether, the
principles of advantage play will continue to be useful for those who still
wish to play.
If the book writing comment is aimed at Jean Scott, I think that it's way off
base. Her book, and the new one if it ever comes out <G>, aren't "make a stash"
primers, but rather an introduction and follow-up to the merits of advantage
play.
