advantage is a bad word to use

"Advantage play" has now become a bad word to use since it has been picked up
by casinos and newspapers to include card counting and other types of play
frowned on by casinos. Card counters and others are sometimes ejected from
casinos.

I suggest we stop calling our type of VP play "advantage" so we are not
lumped in with card counters and others...

I suggest in the future we just refer to ourselves as something like serious
VP players, strategic VP players, or possibly even something truly innocuous
like Fun VP players. Strategic VP play could be shortened to SVP or something
like that. Let's keep VP play on the casinos good side.

Too late for that. Casinos are not overly fond of good VP players.
They don't get tossed out nearly as often as blackjack players, but
it still happens. This occurs mostly at the very high stakes level
of VP play, but not always. Sometimes casinos will even get rid of
players that may only be playing a near break-even game (i.e. the
Detroit VP barrings).

Casinos can't stand the thought that a single person might be able to
get a long term advantage over them. The only reason blackjack or
good VP games still exist at all is that casinos know that games that
can theoretically be beaten will attract plenty of customers who
don't have the ability or inclination to actually beat these games.

If you do have the ability to play a winning game, and your advantage
in dollar per hour terms is relatively small, the casinos may
tolerate you indefinitely, but they still won't like it very much.
But if they percieve you to be a financial threat, they WILL get rid
of you.
