Adios Viva Laughlin

(First posted on the regional group)

I saw episode two last night, missed the first one. What a cornball format
and plot line.

But I saw about twelve seconds of real shots of Laughlin in two second bursts
while they changed segments.

Let's see:

* a shot of the night-time Golden Nugget white lights canopy only showing
"casino".

* driving down Casino Drive going south with the Aquarius (?) marquee showing
through the back window

* a shot of Casino Drive going south where you see the CB and TE marquees
(maybe it was still RE?)

* possible Riverside night-time lights

So the Viva Casino had old reel slot machines like Wild Cherry and Double
Diamond, didn't see any video ones. The competitor casino had new video ones
including progressive ones. Not a glimpse of any VP in any joint that I saw.

So the Viva Casino ended up dealing single deck BJ down to the last card in
the deck. I guess they didn't even burn a card, anyone notice?

So they were talking about counting cards, but the plot line was about
remembering the actual cards left in the deck sort of like poker outs, not if
the
count was favorable.

There was a topless pool at the competitor's casino. Have not found that in
Laughlin yet.

The cocktailer put up with a drink tip being stuck into her ample cleavage.

So who remembers what songs were sung? I can remember Queen's "Fat Bottomed
Girls".

I didn't bother to watch any of the show, but was told that the office (?) scene in the 1st episode was shot in Don Laughlin's penthouse. Other than that, my source said that hardly any of the show was being filmed in Laughlin.

I really like this show, in fact a lot more than CBS does. The football game ran 20 minutes late, that cut into their bread and butter show "60 minutes". Rather than cut 60 minutes they aired Laughlin 20 minutes late. Thus , anybody who Tivo'd the show got screwed , as the 8-9PM recorded show, cut off 20 minutes too soon!
Did the VIVA manage to lure the whale who digs fat chicks ?

I

I agree the show stinks, especially the singing parts.
