Thank you all for your tips. I will certainly use them in April when
I return.
A few more comments (nothing deep... just my own observations):
RP: The COD sure adds fun to playing, just wish it extended beyond
the Wharf area. I can play DB, DDB, JB, and BP proficiently and DW
fairly proficiently (don't practice/play it enuf). The game that
brings me the most pleasure is DB, preferably at the 50c level.
There is just one of these at RP (that I could find) and it is just
outside the Wharf area. The new chairs they put in are incredible.
My butt lasted way longer than my bankroll did (highly unusual).
Waitress service was either terrific or deplorable. One waitress in
particular was amazing. She made sure to come by me at least every
10-15 minutes and always remembered what I had drank/asked for the
last time. Another waitress avoided me and seemed annoyed whenever I
asked for anything... which was always 2 glasses of ice. An odd
order, I know - but, in the last 2 weeks - all of Laughlin has gone
to Pepsi. I am a "Diet Coke ONLY" drinker... no substitute will do.
Ended up paying a cab to take me to the store to buy my own stock
and then carried my own cans to every casino and restaurant. So, I
had few "free" drinks (I don't drink much alcohol) and was tipping
the entire trip for glasses of ice. Got 2 jackets and 1 shirt in
their promotions as well. I like the kiosk plan there too... very
convenient. Overall, employees were very friendly to us.
CB: Mixed feelings about this place. The best thing there is the
TITO at the bar. I like that the machines at that bar are also multi-
denom/multi-game. Makes it ez to sit next to your friend(s) who play
different games at different levels than you do. If the bar with
TITO had 10/7DB, I'd never leave it except to sleep and shower : )
EW: Received a letter from an exec. host in December saying that I
had reached a level whereby I was entitled to all kinds of
freebies/goodies. I dismissed it as being blanket marketing... but
did bring it along. Went to the VIP/host office while I was there.
They said that the host who sent it was on vacation, so another host
took care of me. He said it was not a "blanket" letter and looked me
up on the puter. Was very nice to me and said I could have whatever
I wanted because I was a "serious" player. Offered me a suite, which
I declined. We had already moved once and I wasn't up to it again.
Told him I was returning in April and he set that up for a suite.
Hoping it's a nice one cuz I am a sort of "room snob." It's amazing
what qualifies for "serious" here... had only played once for about
3 hours or so at the 25c/50c level. Found no 10/7DB at any denom...
Service at the bar was pretty bad. There were 3 bartenders and about
10 customers.... and yet, it was hard to get a drink. They were too
busy socializing. Also, a sweet old lady sat next to me for about 2
hours playing and chatting when she realized her card hadn't
registered. Called over a slot tech who essentially told her to
pound sand. Called over a host next.... same thing. VERY poor
handling of the situation IMO. The bartender said there were several
readers that hadn't worked properly in a long time and had many
complaints - yet, nothing has been done about it. She was disgusted
with the staff as well and thought it was very unfair to players.
That's it... thanks for allowing me to ramble. Anyone wanting to
meet up... we will be there 4/2 (getting in late) until 4/5 (leaving
late afternoon).
