If you take your 4000 and play until you either get the hand pay
(and the extra $750) or go broke, then you will get the hand pay 84%
of the time. You will lose $4000 the other 16% of the time. Ouch.
You can use Dunbar's Risk Analyzer for Video Poker to do this type
of calculation. Just create a custom game using 9/6 JOB payoffs and
frequencies, except put in huge payoffs for Quads, SF, and RF. I
used 100,000 coins for those payoffs. If you then set the "Short-
term RoR" to go for 5 hours at 500 hands/hr and put in a "Goal" of
+$10,000, you will find that you either go broke (16% of the time)
or hit your "Goal" of +$10,000 (84%). The "Goal" in this case is
merely a counter for when you hit your bonus hand. In fact, by 2000
hands you have either hit your handpay or gone broke.
I'll take a look at $2 DDB later if no one else has.

Well, I'd take a shot at high limit and then quit.
With a stake of $4000 ( thats 80 plays) I'd go for the $10 9/6
Jacks in the
high limit.
Any hit of 4Oak or higher , gets you that hand pay plus $750
bonus .
