[acvpp] The Plaza Club AC

Howdy

Well at the suggestion of some fellow VPer's I met at TP I contacted a host
and found out I had qualified for the Plaza Club but only on weekdays. For
those uniformed it allows you to eat in their private dining room for ten
bucks and you can also park in a private section of the indoor garage but you
still must pay a regular fee...big deal!

The "Club" offers a meat entree..a pasta dish and something for non red meat
eaters like yours truly. There are various salads and deserts and pizza to
boot. All drinks are complimentary so you can wash your blues away.

My first trip I had some chicken crapola which was a bit overcooked with
some veggies on the side which were passable. The pasteries must have been made
at a learning center for wayward cooks. The pizza was the highlight of the
meal. Overall C- rating for the grub.

Yesterday I gave the place another shot. The place was sparsely populated
and the service seemed scarce.

They had some meat dish which looked like dog droppings in gravy ..a pasta
dish without an identification card and some clams marinara which seemed to be
missing the clams.

I had the pasta which was unremarkable and some clams which were a joke.
Once again the side of veggies was passable. The pizza once again was the bell
of the ball. I tried a parfait but it sucked so I left if unfinished. Then onto
some little pastries which I found unedible.

Supposedly they offer an addition of a cutting board meat entree at times
but I did not see it served in the two afternoons I was there.

I forgot to mention I ordered a lemonade which looked like a vodka collins
without the booze. It was too sweet for me.

You would think the food would be much better for a so called exclusive
club. Sorry Charlie.

I must say the TP is generous with their comps( I got 135 last count) the
problem seems to be enjoying them at a decent eatery.

I was on way out to lunch, when I stopped to read this review. I
decided instead to skip eating today. I recommend a slow reading by
anyone who wishes to diet for the day!

My wife and I ate there a couple time's with friends. We're not members.
I thought the food was OK, nothing real great, but better than the buffet. My wife liked the salad's. The service was good.
