AC trip report

Hi Gang:
Hedy and I got back on the winning track this past weekend in AC after two
days of heavy play at the Borgata and Harrah's.
We rolled into town Friday afternoon and went to the Borg to pick up close
to $500 in "playback" that was part bonus cash and part money we earned on our
last trip. We played mostly Multi-Strike 9/6 jacks and Super Times Pay
double bonus and managed to take out just over $400 of the money we downloaded.
This was thanks to Hedy getting a quad with the 8X multiplier on STP, which
netted us $500. We also ate at the Borg buffet and still believe that the $10
charge for Black Label card holders is still the best bargain in town.
Afterwards, we left for Harrah's where we were staying for two nights. We
knew the trip was going to be a good one when we got $200 in the Match & Win
pull tab game that Harrah's offers the last Friday of every month. You're
guaranteed $50 but can win up to $500 depending on how many symbols you match. We
matched two, hence the $200.
Our play was mostly up and down for the first couple of hours, but Hedy
bailed us out when she hit aces for $800 on dollar 9/6 DB on the slant-tops near
the garage escalator. Later, we played 9/6 JOB on the bank of machines near
the cash center by the old Fantasea Reef buffet and I chimed in with a good run
at $1 9/6 JOB. I started with $120 and cashed out just over $800 three hours
later.
We counted our money and found we had $1,700 more than we came to town with,
so our mission on Saturday was to hold onto it and head to Las Vegas this
week on a winning note. It got a little shaky for awhile early on Saturday but
Hedy hit aces twice more for $200 each and I had another good session at $1
JOB. When all was said and done, we had put through $32,000 for the day (3,200
base credits) and had added $100 to our win total. We decided to call it a
night and went up to our Atrium Suite to watch a couple of movies, which we
recently found out are complimentary for Seven Stars guests.
We watched Little Miss Sunshine and the Dreamgirls and liked the former more
than the latter, although both were entertaining. When we checked out Sunday
morning, we noticed that our rewards credits account had gone down by about
$30, so we asked the registration desk clerk to look into it. She told us
that there were charges taken for the two movies and room taxes. She seemed a
bit puzzled when we told her that in-room movies were comped for Seven Stars. A
front desk manager took care of restoring the RC's, but this is another
instance of making sure that you are aware of your comp balances at all times
because certain charges are automatically deducted from your comp account at
Harrah's properties.
We had a similar experience last week. When we left the Paris after the
Millionaire Maker trip, we had $207 in our comp account. I checked it for a few
days online and there was no change. Then, suddenly on Thursday, $70
disappeared from the account. When we got to Harrah's AC, we asked the supervisor at
the Total Rewards Center to check it out and she immediately restored the RC's
to our account. So, again, be aware of your account balances at all times!!
We're off to Vegas Wednesday for a five-night stay at the South Point with a
little side trip to Caesars Palace on Saturday so we can take advantage of a
promotion. We're going to see the Producers at the Paris on Saturday and
we're thinking about eating in one of the restaurants on property. Any
recommendations would be welcome. Also, a question. Does anyone know if the Eiffel
Tower Restaurant is part of Harrah's or is it independently owned and operated?
We were thinking about trying it out, but only if we can use our Harrah's
comps.
I guess we have to save our appetites. When we come home from Vegas on
Monday, we have to pack for a cruise leaving from Florida the following Saturday.
As Hedy keeps saying, "this retirement is getting a bit hectic!" All
kidding aside, we are very blessed to be healthy enough and "young" enough to
travel as much as we do. All the years that we worked hard are now paying off.
Regards,
CoachVee (Tom V) & Hedy
