Hello to all:
Hedy and I have been long-time members of Skip Hughes' Las Vegas group and
the Atlantic City board but have never been part of VPFree. We are now members
and would like to share our VP experiences and knowledge with the folks on this
board as well. The following is our first trip report filed to VPFree. We
hope you all enjoy it.

Hi Gang:
The giant VP pendulum continued to swing in our direction this weekend in AC
as Hedy and I tacked on a $2,500 profit to our amazing $5,000 score last week,
thanks mostly to our third royal in nine days and dealt aces on DB five-play.
It all began Thursday when we rolled into the Borgata for a two-night stay
that included my playing in a Super Satellite No-Limit Hold 'Em tourney Friday
at the Borg. We got into town a little later than usual (around 5 p.m.),
downloaded $80 "playback" each and began to play 9/6 JOB on the 50-cent/dollar
machines near the main cage. And something wonderful happened. We never went into
our pockets for "our money."
We both started at the 50-cent level and Hedy's $80 quickly became $200 after
she hit a couple of quads. She switched to the dollar level and continued on
a roll. She hit a straight flush for $250 and three more quads. I had some
success early on as well and decided to "go for the gusto" at the dollar level,
too. I hit a pair of quads within 10 hands and then needed the four of spades
for a SF ... and nailed it! We evaluated our situation after about two hours of
play, found that we were ahead close to $900 and decided to follow our new
philosophy when ahead: PTB (push the button!). We cashed out and went up to the
room to watch TV.
Friday we had breakfast in the Metropolitan (the buffet was closed for three
days), moaned and groaned about the usual bad service then started to play
some 9/6 JOB on Multi-Strike and dabble in Super Times Pay. Signup for the Hold
Em tourney started at 9 a.m. so I left Hedy to register. The line was
humongous, so I had someone hold my spot while I went back to tell her I probably would
be awhile. As I approached her machine, I saw she was writing someone in our
gambling log and knew that this could only be a good thing because we only
note big hits. As I got closer, I saw that she had drawn to three aces while
playing five-play DB and she had gotten the fourth ace on TWO seperate hands. A
nice $400 score. But, that was only the most recent good news. She told me that
about 10 minutes earlier she was DEALT aces for a cool $1,000! Yowie! How
sweet was that!
I gave her a big kiss, told her to keep it up and returned to the poker line.
The tourney was a $100 plus $30 buy-in Super Satellite and I lasted for about
two hours before busting out with pocket eights to a guy with pocket kings
who hit a king on the flop and a fourth one of the turn. Great timing!!
I sat in a $2-$5 no-limit game for awhile and called Hedy to tell her I would
meet her at the gift shop because we had to go over to the boardwalk to do
some business at Bally's/Caesars. When I saw her, I noticed she had something in
her hand. The closer I got, it became clear that she was waving a cashout
ticket. She smiled, showed me a ticket for $1,100 and told me how she had just
hit a diamond royal on STP after holding three cards. I held back the temptation
to say, "You were playing five-play and you only hit ONE!!"
Anyway, we went to bed up $2,100 for the trip with plans on going to Harrah's
Saturday morning to play some 9/6 JOB there (it's triple cashback everyday
until Dec. 24) and pick up some Seven Stars shopping spree money at 1 p.m. We
had breakfast in the FantaSea Reef buffet and started to play again at the
50-cent level. We again never needed to go into our pocket and racked up eight $1
quads after switching when we saw that things were going well. We cashed out
around noon with a $400 profit and went to the diamond lounge for a little
lunch.
Before we left, we touched base with our host and made reservations for a New
Year's stay at Harrah's (the first time we've gotten an invitation there) and
hit the road thinking that maybe, just maybe, the 2006 holiday season may be
very, very merry indeed!!
Regards,
CoachVee (Tom V) & Hedy
