Do most slot clubs award points on nickel vp machines the same as they
do quarters and dollars? For example, the same $ in equals the same
number of points on any kind of vp machine?

As with many things gambling, this is an "it depends" thing. I would
say that, yes, most slot clubs award them equally. But many award
points differently depending on the denomination played.
Personally, I do not understand the reason why some clubs gives fewer
points for people playing penny/nickel games -- they generally have a
higher house edge, so you are beating down on those players twice!
But that's what they do...
