A W-2G incident at a locals LV bar

Last Sat. we were at a local(LV) VP bar and Restaurant. The food is
very good and the VP is "barVP". But the free drinks and food are worth
it occasionsly. Anyway, I play $1 and had run the credits up to over
$1300 with the help of some 4OK hits while we ate. Took it back to
$1200 and hit the cashout button. The bartender came with a book and
an ID request.

This produced a very STRONG objection on my part as it was NOT a single
hit and in her defense, her computer terminal was flashing "W2G
required". I held my ground and she called the Herbst company that
manages their machines. It took 45 minutes to get some action which
involved waiting for a Herbst slot tech to drive to the bar to confirm
the history and that a W2G was not needed. We had another drink and
waited an hour for the tech to arrive, confirm the history,OK paying me
the $1200 and then showing her how to over-ride the system if it
happens again.

Lesson learned = 1. some VP bartenders are still learning
                 2. sometimes getting $1195 instead of $1200 might
make a meal easier to digest.

I had just the opposite experience a few years ago. I hit a $1250
jackpot at a small bar and, without any paperwork, was paid as if it
were a normal cash out.
