Kelly betting is the mathematical technique that maximizes bankroll
growth. It's the fastest way to go from coupon hustler to high roller
and still play by the rules. Cheating of course is faster, but you
have to ask yourself: "Do I look good in stripes"?
You can estimate the Kelly number with variance/advantage, for example
for 15/9/5 Deuces it's about 26/.0077 = 3500. Take your current
bankroll and divide it by that number and that's the maximum you
should be betting per hand, half of that is safer, but you should
never bet more than that number.
Kelly works for anything that has an advantage but also a variance:
video poker, texas hold'em, blackjack, sports bet, stocks, forex, sex ...
