A rising tide lifts all boats...and vice-versa

Well, I'm out here in LV (internet access compliments of the local
library) and all I can say is...what a difference a few months makes.
I was last out here in December and I played lots of VP. As with
other trips I made to LV, I had a good experience. Hit my share of
good size quads and kept the cash flow going.

This time things are real, real different. Just as a good economy
will "lift all boats", a bad economy will do the opposite. Everywhere
I go, e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e, VP machines have become noticeably
tighter. The casinos that are favorable to VP are still favorable,
but only relative to the awful VP at other places. I have certainly
not changed the way I play, so it dawned on my after a couple of days
of bad experiences that all places have tightened things up.

Whew! Had I known it was going to be like this, I would have cut my
trip short one day.

So you are seeing lots more short pay games? You are playing these short pay games in lieu of preferred full pay games?

You can't be referring to the "tightening" of machines as in the slot department opens the machines and tightens the payout levers, right?

So you are seeing lots more short pay games? You are playing these

short pay games in lieu of preferred full pay games?

You can't be referring to the "tightening" of machines as in the

I've was playing full pay games 10/7 DB, 9/6 JOB, etc. I also

noticed a lot more DDB Bonus games, particularly on progressives where
there were DB machines last December. I went to several of the casinos
that are known for good VP: Fiestas, Tuscany, Stations. The 25c
machines were not as tight as the 50c - $1.00 machines, but they were
still not delivering the experience I'd seen in my last 3-4 trips out
here. As for the 50c - $1.00 machine, they were tighter than a tick.
Suffice it to say, I got my butt kicked by Las Vegas this time. I
can't just say it was back luck. Given the places I went to and the
sameness of the experience, I'd have to say there was a bigger trend
in place and not any VP ineptitude on my part. So, I'm thinking when
the economy tanks, casinos will respond with less favorable "returns".
When times are good, they loosen things up a bit.

I'm back home now, licking my wounds.

They are not tightening the machines - you are having a losing
streak...welcome to my world...I am on a losing streak that defiles
everything...
