##It's what I might call the "indiscretion factor".

Consider a very strong $1 play that's been given some widespread
publicity through a group such as this. A very casual player, perhaps
one who seldom ventures to $1 play and one who is more than a little
green, decides to hit it with a couple hundred bucks in hand.

In the course of his foray he takes it upon himself to approach a
floor manager and comment, "I can't believe you have such a wonderful
play on your floor, providing close to a 1% potential advantage".
(I've heard tell of players who've acted in a very similar manner.)##

Believe it or not, Harry, a similar kind of indiscretion is probably
MORE common among pros!

I often see pros at a good play discussing it and other plays in
LOUD voices, with no regard to who is within earshot. They
discuss strategy, percentages, hourly "earn," and other subjects
never mentioned by the average player. Certainly, most floorpeople are
pretty clueless about these subjects, but not all, and many slot
supervisors are pretty knowledgeable. Why shoot yourself, and
others, in the foot? With good machines/plays disappearing all
over the place, if you are an advantage player, BE DISCREET!

I have probably been guilty of this kind of indiscretion myself,
on the rare occasions I play near friends. But I do make an
effort to keep my voice down.
