A "Quick" Question ...

As "quick" reply, I'd envision that a game which which strips away 20% of the base game wager between quad hits to have reasonably steep variance.

in fact, by essentially reallocating approx 20% of the game return from non-quad hands to quad hits, I'd look for the multiline Jacks experience to be "quickened" to one approximating standard multiline DDB play.

Hello.

There seems to be quite a lot of information available on the net with respect to Quick Quads, both pay tables and strategies. The EV on these games (with the 6th coin) is enhanced over that of the normal games. I have made a (very) quick and dirty search but have not been able to find any information on how the "variance" of these games is changed. Can someone point me in the proper direction?

Thanks.

Most analysts have concluded that the Quick Quads version has approximately the same variance as the base game. That is Ten Play 9/6 DDB Quick Quads has approximately the same variance as regular 9/6 DDB.

In human terms, you are trading off 20% more coin in for the privilege of hitting quads about 2.7X faster than you normally would and with a better quad payoff when you do ( for example 500/300/230 vs standard 400/200/125). I have had success tackling this game using the 40/60/80 rule for session bankroll, for example in this case ...low variance base game $1 triple play bonus QQ.
40X$18 = $720, or for a mid variance game like DDB 60X18 = $1080. For Vegas, Short pay versions of QQ rules, as I've only seen the full pays at South Point and Green Valley Ranch. I would not recommend playing short-pays these because quad droughts do happen, and those extra 5 coins back on the ST, FL, FH really add up and keep you alive longer.
...best Tom

Hi Bob,
Ellis Island down-graded 9/6 JoB QQ.
4 of a kinds went from 236 to 125 coin and
are 2X max multiplier.
Also the NSU machines are Zero multiplier.
