A planned Laughlin Trip

I will be in Laughlin next week for 6 days. I have booked
a golf tournament at Harrah's for Tuesday through Thursday (April
10th-12th) and my wife is arriving Friday for a Tanya Tucker
Concert and Extreme Bulls on Sunday.
Since my wife is a teacher, it is not possible for her to
come on Tuesday. Because of this, I wanted to get a friend
invited to the Harrah's golf tournament in order to not need to
drive alone from Phoenix. Thus I had two not normal requests.
First, to get a friend comped for an offer not received and second,
to book back-to-back comped offered in order for my wife to see
Tanya Tucker. Credit my host and Harrah's for meeting both request!
The two offers are booked and I only need to check in for the
Tucker tickets, I do not need to switch rooms. My friend was
comped the golf tournament and a room.
However, I also needed to book a room for my friend in
Laughlin for Friday through Sunday nights. I had a number of
other comped room options. One was from the River Palms for
Friday and Saturday which also included 2 EXtreme Bulls Tickets.
I also have weekend rooms supposedly available at the Golden
Nugget, Ramada Express and the Pioneer. I assume that I always
have free nights at the Colorado Belle since I always have full
RFB and most likely a suite at that casino.
One of my offers was is for "River Rick`s Video Poker
Tournament" at the Pioneer. I decided to risk $250 with hopes of
recovering some money and for some fun. The fee includes 5 meals
that I am hoping to share with my friends. It includes a dinner
buffet on Friday and Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner buffets on
Saturday. It concludes with a Granny's Brunch on Sunday. I cannot
imagine eating 5 buffets with in about 42 hours.
However, after all this planning things got more complicated.
Originally my wife was going to catch a bus to Laughlin with my
friend's wife on Friday. We were all going drive back Sunday night.
However, I guess my friend's wife did not want us to have too good
of time and she now wanted to come early. This now meant my wife
would need to ride the bus alone. Instead she invited two teacher
friends to drive up after school on Friday if I could get another
room.
I decided to book a "Trade or No Trade Games Show" offer at the
Colorado Belle for Friday through Sunday. This should include a
suite and RFB. I am hoping this additional food can also be share.
I am sorry for some of this probably not interesting personal
Information. However, has any on this forum played in a River
Rick tournament? Do you know what video poker game they use
for the tournament? Also, do they just give you meal tickets for
all those meal buffets? I am hoping they are tickets so I can
give some away to others. This would allow me to use the RFB at
the Belle more efficiently.
I do not plan on giving the Pioneer any play on this trip, but
I will need to make a good effort at Harrah's and the Belle to
keep offer flexibility available for future use at both Harrah's
and the Colorado Belle.
I would enjoy meeting any of you from this group who might be
in Laughlin any of these six days. We will leave sometime Sunday
afternoon. Even though rooms are booked through Sunday night,
Also, there is a good chance the EXtreme Bulls tickets for Sunday
might be available to any interested person. I will have a new
cell phone number (switching carriers) and I will post it on Monday
before leaving.

Thanks,
Bob

Man o man Bob you are going to be one busy fellow. I have no answer
for your questions, and will not be in town, but I don't know if you
will have time to sleep. It looks like you are bedding down and
feeding 6 people? Golf, concerts, Bull Riding, video poker
tournament, and a game show, plus you got to put the coin in to keep
the casinos all happy. Not much of a vacation, but have a great time.

Thanks for the good wishes. Part of the enjoyment will be the
extra people and they are all basically necessary. If they would not
have accommodated my friend, I would not have driven to Laughlin
alone for golf He is the bigger golf fan, but normally does not
qualify for golf offers. Thus golf was also something I wanted to do
for him. And in addition, I did not want my wife to come up alone
on the weekend.
So, I will need to check in 3 times over the 6 days and that is
not too difficult. I am planning on sleeping all 5 nights at
Harrah's. We probably wiull not use the Extreme Bull tickets and
that is why I asked if anyone was interested. We have Sunday night
rooms, but 3 are teachers and they need to be back in Phoenix Sunday
night. I always like the extra night. There is no checking out
deadline or late request necessary. And again, even without needing
to use the proper techinque to eat after checking out at the Belle,
at least 2 of us can eat free before leaving town. I will probably
use some comps and we all might eat and share our last meal
together. They are usually very good at comping the two most
expensive meals and allowing you to pay the balance with comps.
Needing a room was the incentive for the River Rick tournament and
this something I was always curious about. Depending on my
observations, this might be the only time I enter such a tournament.
playing at the Pioneer will be my last concern since I am paying for
their video poker tournament and it is not one of my core casinos in
Laughlin.
The biggest problem will be distributing my food opportunities.
However, this is just a bonus for them if I am successful. I will go
to the "Game Show" at the Belle. Now that was strategic! It is a
good excuse for not needing to go to a Tanya Tucker concert! The
plan is to ask my Harrah's host for two or three extra concert
tickets. The 3 or 4 women will go to the concert and my friend and I
will go to the game show. My wife is coming with either 1 or 2
girlfriends. I will have no problem with from my wife for this plan
since she thinks I might win something at the show. I look at it
like I am already a winner!
I think it will all work out. Yes, I will need to do 2 or 3 good
days of reasonable gambling. Saturday is probably reserved for the
Belle because I will be there for the "Game Show" One or two of the
six days will be devoted to Harrah's. I am basically a $1 video
poker player. I might need to do some $5 or multiple hand play.
Fortunately there are good opportunities for $1 multiple hand games
at both Harrah's and the Belle. One day will be basically given to
golf (Thursday). I thought this was all reasonable in order to be
with friends.
Guess what, I saved the best for last! Yesterday I received an
email that a sister from Wisconsin will be in Las Vegas Sunday
through Wednesday afternoon. This was my first notice of this fact.
So now I am thinking of leaving for Laughlin early Tuesday in order
to leave my friends and then drive up to Las Vegas (Bally's) in order
to see my sister on Tuesday. Yea, you are right, maybe I am a little
crazy!

Thanks,
Bob
