A new concept in frugality, "Just In Time"

Jean Scott brought up an interesting point when mentioning that Brad
hit a RF on $5 NSUDs while at Caesars at 4:57 PM, Saturday, December
13, 2003. Oughta be good for IRS there, Jean! She mentions it
was "Just In Time" as they planned to quit at 5. It seems that all
RFs, Jackpots, game bets, were just in time as all occur before you
quit. Or am I missing something there? I ALWAYS quit just after
playing off the RF but my actual mental log out was on seeing "Call
Attendant" therefore, always, just in time it would seem. CD

Hitting a royal is almost never the signal for us to quit a particular playing session. We quit when we get tired, have an appointment, or reach a pre-defined goal, i.e., earning a certain # of points or, like on this occasion, a promotion ends.
We look at life as one long VP session.

For someone who plays less often than we do and/or has a smaller bankroll than he needs to be able to play indefinitely - I often advise this type of player to quit temporarily after a big jackpot and go "celebrate." This is for psychological reasons rather than math ones.

A kiss and a hug after a royal - for us - that's long enough for us to celebrate.

My last trip to LAS I hit my third lifetime royal, I
was chasing a promotion that ended at 7:00 PM so I
played $5 VP, something I rarely do (insufficient
bankroll) I told my wife when I got my next Royal I
was going to pretend to get excited as cover so the
casino would not know I was a member of the advantage
community. As a matter of fact, I understand most
casinos tolerate advantage VP players, with some
exception, they don't consider us much of a threat to
them. Anyway when I hit that Royal, I did not yell and
jump and down. I did not forget to exactly, I think I
went into a mild state of shock. I just sat there
dumbfounded until I remembered to turn on the change
light. It caused a lot of commotion, they took my
picture and asked me to sign publicity releases etc.
Casino employees seemed to get more excited than I
did, I know some of that is faked, they are really
hustling tips.
