A motor City Casino VP Adventure

Got to Motor City Casino at around 8:30 in the morning Tuesday and
played there until about 7:30 in the evening. I played mostly quarter
NSUD Progressive, or 16/10/4/4 Deuces Wild and a little Triple Bonus
later. The only game I'll play for dollars is Pick'Em poker, as it is
the least volitile of the video poker games in the Detroit area.
While playing Deuces, I always keep notes on what hands I get to
relieve the boredom and to keep track of my progress. If you should
ever see a guy playing VP with a notebook and pen on the shelf of the
machine in a Detroit or Canadian casino, it will probably be me as
I've never seen anyone else doing it.
After seven hours play I got the following totals (Maybe 5000
hands?):

   ROYAL FLUSHES---------0
   4 DEUCES--------------2
   Wild Royal Flushes----7
   5 OF A KIND-----------18
   STRAIGHT FLUSHES------25
   DEALT 3 DEUCES--------6
   DEALT 4 TO A ROYAL----2
   FINISHED 4 TO A ROYAL-8

You would think that I walked away a big winner with those totals,
but I only won $250. (run some NSUD 5000 hand sims in win poker if
you have the program) The first time I hit the Deuces, I had only
been there a short time and didn't want to leave so soon, so I stayed
and eventually lost back a thousand credits. Rats! Don't you hate it
when that happens? The second time I hit them I quit for dinner.
Motor City has just added a new way to get your meals comped. At
several of their restaurants. You just get your meal and when you
pay, just give your player's card to the cashier and she wiil take it
off your comp total. It's a hell of a lot better than getting on your
knees and begging some young casino flunkie to please give you a
sandwich for all those thousands of dollars and hours of play you've
put on all those negative games.
Later, after my dinner of soup and an egg salad sandwich at their
deli, I headed back to the VP wars.

Here's where I made a mistake. I decided to play the Triple Bonus
game even though it has a full percentage less than Deuces Wild. This
very volitile game immediately took a quick hundred and fifty from my
bankroll. No big deal as far as the money goes as I always
bring about a grand with me when I gamble, but how many times have we
all regretted doing something like this in a casino? Get ahead, stay
too long and give it back and then some?
Eventually I hit several quads and got back to $50 ahead for the
day and called it quits. Hey! Any win in a storm.
