A MOST SATISFYING RF (It's not only the money)

Howdy

How many times have you been dealt a flush only to take a second look and
notice four of the suited cards are four fifths of a Royal Flush? This is an
emotional pull. You know you are going to have to ditch the pat hand and shoot
for the RF. You are keenly aware the chances are 47-1 against you that you
will get the needed card. Sometimes you flush up but miss the biggie. Sometimes
you get the right card..BUT wrong suit. That is a real stinger! A punny
straight is no substitute for the elusive royal family. Most times you end up
disappointed in the pull unless you get the dream card.

Yesterday I got THE card. It was my second Royal in as many days. A first
for me. These came after a slump which had depleted 25 % of my total bankroll.
A period of at least two cycles...Bummer!

Out of all the possible royals you can pull including the magical no redraw
I find the "Damn I have to break up the flush" the most rewarding to me. Aside
from the obvious BIG MONEY pull what RF do you savior the most?

Some years ago at the Barbara Coast (if I remember correctly) there was a promotion that if
you got two Royals in a twenty-four hour period you would receive a $1000.00 bonus. I had
just flown in that evening and was tired and lagging however the promotion was only good
until the next day and so I remember playing FPDW and within my first half hour drew the
four ducks a couple of times and then a Royal after holding three to the Royal.

Several hours later I was still playing nearly blind with fatigue and was starting to make
mistakes. I had about 40 credits left on the meter and decided I would give up after they
were done when I was dealt a garbage hand that included an ace of hearts and a deuce. I
aimed my finger to hit the button that held the deuce only to miss and hit the one next to it
that held the ace at the same time I hit the deal button, when out popped the rest of the
hearty Royal. Suddenly I was awake. Wide awake!

Royals for me are much like sex. The ones I think about the most are
the last one and the next one.

I have never had a dealt Royal or one on the
redraw. One $5 Royal on a progressive and one regular
$5 Royal, both when taking shots. Last year I was
playing a three line $.25 progressive at the
Bilgewater in Laughlin shortly after one line was hit,
held the lone heart jack and hit the middle line Royal
for some $1500+, my only Royal on a four card draw,
quite satisfying.

This seems like a perfect place for a joke about being alone when it
happens, but I'll not be the one to make it.

Most satisfying was on a quarter NSUD at Fitzgerald's, after midnight.
I had been dealt an awful hand, and discarded everything. Up came a
Royal Flush, and the machine locked. Someone had turned off the music
that usually plays, and at first I didn't realize it was a royal (hey,
it's late at night). It took about a half hour to get a pay, because
this was a weekday, and the only slot person upstairs had two other
hand pays ahead of me. Still, I was thrilled with that Royal.
