Guys, (do any Gals post here?)
It was a dark and stormy night and...wait, that's another story.
I-75 was a mess Monday. Light snow was falling, traffic from the
closed Lodge filled the lanes, and an accident that had me stopping
and going from 14 mile road to the I-375 exit. But, thanks to hot
coffee, Dunkin Donuts and rock and roll, I survived the ordeal.
MOTOR CITY CASINO
The garage, as usual, was cold, wet and filled with puddles of
water. There also was water dripping from above that caught me on the
head and ran down my neck as I walked to the entrance. Burrrrrrrrr!
The ceilings are kinda low in this place. It feels like I'm playing
in someone's very fancy basement. Lots of money changer machines on
all floors with only a couple out of service. Bathrooms are harder to
find here. (They took one out on the lower level) I Played $20
through Spin Poker and hit nothing. Played $100 through Pick-A-Pair
and hit nothing.
I noticed that they also have ProPoker in their poker room just
like GT has. I also couldn't help but notice their old psychological
ploy of blaring out loud music with a heavy, heavy beat through the
loudspeaker system. I guess it is supposed to put me in a trance that
will induce me to gamble more money than I want to. It didn't work.
All I got out of it was a headache, so I left. In this case, my
bankroll was saved by rock and roll.

MGM CASINO
Probably moot points here since they will be gone in about a year.
(their new place looks great from the outside, so far)
The first thing you notice when you enter the place are their very
cool-looking brass/gold doors that give the place a touch of class.
This is a very clean place. They have so many money changer machines
on the main floor that in one place, there are 10 of them side by
side and around the corner and all of them are in service.
I still think that the skimpy costumes the girls have to wear here
are too "Las Vegas upscale" for a working-class city like Detroit.
I lost $40 at the bar playing dollar Pick'Em, then hit four threes
for a hundred playing 9/7/5 DB. Upstairs they have a Starbucks-like
expresso bar that serves good flavorfull coffee, so I got a cup and
wandered around. Nice classy place, although cramped, but not much in
the way of fair-play video poker. (I call fair-play vp games, ones
that have a pay back of 99% or better)

Greektown Casino
After the usual long walk from the garage, I put $20 into a
favorite slot machine of mine and within a short time doubled my
money. That's about the only thing that went right in this place
today.
After winning 50 bucks playing DW, I then proceded to drop $100 on
Pick'EM, 9/6 JB, Bonus Poker at the bar, and yet another hundred
playing pick'Em again. Between Motor City and here, I must of had
over 30 chances to hit a quad playing Pick'Em, but couldn't convert
any of them. Not a good day, but I've had worse.
After a couple of beers and listening to some good Motown music
from the stage bar, I left for home a little lighter in the wallet,
but still feeling good about my Monday Moaning Three Casino adventure.

PS: If I write more stories like this, I'm expect to get paid in
beers the next time I see you guys.
