A Modest Proposal

IMO you're tilting at windmills, a practice which has been
ongoing on vpFREE and which I will continue to pursue.
In a universe where only 434/5000 voted (a relatively
easy task) in the recent Hall of Fame election, moral
suasion isn't likely to do the trick.

Any serious implementation would require draconian
measures that would drastically reshape the size and
philosophy of vpFREE. I'm not sure that the result
would be better or logistically feasible, and currently
subscribe to the "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" state
of mind.

FWIW, the LVLocals vpFREE group is based on selective
membership and regular, mandatory sharing of relevant
bounceback cash data. Feedback that I've heard indicates
that it's been a worthwhile endeavor so far, albeit on a
very limited scale, with only 16 active members.

Why not ask each member to make the minimal contribution of posting at
least once a year either: 1. an update to the database or 2.A summary
trip report of amount played and the corresponding cash back, comps, and
mailings such play garnered.

Unlike the Hall of Fame voting, this could have a real benefit for
every member. Perhaps you could make it a requirement, and rely on
the honor system for enforcement...you do think that most of the
members are honorable?

There is certainly less room for free rider problems with 16 people.
