I'm just getting into VP and don't know much yet. I was wondering
if any of you have seen the machine I'm about to describe or if it's
gone maybe fill me in on it's history.
The first time I went gambling was in Biloxi 5 or 6 years ago. I
was visiting my uncle in Auburn, AL and we went there on a day
trip. I didn't know much about table games and got tired of slots
so I went to the bar. We were at a casino with a cowboy/western
theme, possibly Boomtown. I sat at the bar and there were video
poker machines built in. I couldn't tell you if they were JoB or DB
or whatever. However, if you won a hand you could then play hands
of a "war" type game where you wager your win and see a single card
face up. You then have 5 cards face down in front of you and if you
select one and it's higher than the face up card you double your
win. Otherwise you lose it. You could continue to double up your
wins for as many hands as you wished so if you won $5 you could
double to $10 then $20 then $40 and so on. As family members would
come up to see how I was doing just sitting at the bar I would send
them away with cups full of quarters to go blow in the slot
machines. I couldn't understand how anyone could lose.
Do these still exist anywhere? If not when did they poof? Anyone
else see them?
