A General Thank You!

I'm am continually astounded week after week by the amazing people co-hosting our radio show Gambling with an Edge has allowed me to meet and the doors it is opening for me. I'm gambling less than I have in years, and enjoying it more than I ever have.

Many of our guests have personally inspired me, and introduced me to things I would not have otherwise known about. Hosting the show is a constant reminder of my own myopic inadequacy, but fortunately I'm fine with that. I love to learn, and if I only had on people that knew the same things I knew, I wouldn't be learning anything. For me this has been like a paid tuition to the best college with invites to the all private frat parties without any need for hazing.

How cool is that?

After my brush with cancer my life could have gone either way. All of you have helped to make it fun, exciting new again. It could very easily have gone the other way. Two years of inactivity while thinking you are dying left me with a string of bad decisions I thought I would never redeem. I haven't yet, but I can at least see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Just wanted to give you all a big sincere THANK YOU.

This is a great time in my life, thank you all for making it possible.

~Frank Kneeland

Sounds like you've led a sheltered life. Go wash behind your ears, kid.

I'm loving the show too, Frank! Thank YOU!

Bob Bartop, I love listning to this radio show, Gambling With An Edge. They are bringing on the greats of the gambling world. The minds that I studied under. I'm a pirate. I love stealing great concepts. I've done it my whole gambling career. I don't try to reinvent the wheel. I study the person who invented the wheel.

That's a great analogy, Mickey. I've never been one to try to figure things out without first looking for the opinion of someone who has been there already. And the quality of the research and information that is available now is so rich. When I was a teenager, I had a thirst for good gambling information, but compared to today, there was relatively little quality info readily available. I remember when Doyle Brunson's book first hit the market, I was just a kid, I poured over that thing, hours upon hours of studying, and then trying to apply what I had learned in the numerous card rooms in California. It's just too bad I was hindered by the inexperience of youth. I'd sure like to do things all over again from the beginning. Of course, who wouldn't?

Frank & Bob's radio show is very exciting. These guys have put some real effort into turning out a quality show with some big name guests. I try to make sure I am at home on Thursday so I can listen to it live, because I don't want to wait for the archives. I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas morning so I can open my gifts.

And besides being very informative, the show is fun to listen to, their personalities kinda compliment each other. Frank is a little whacky and hyper, and Bob plays the straight man, it's funny. I wonder what the show will be like a year from now. I've really got to hand it to them. It's been excellent so far.

Me too. I see no need to repeat hours, days, months, years of work people much smarter than I am have already done.

I agree. And it seems to me that Bob on the radio is much more relaxed and cheerful than his columns might suggest.

Interesting story in the NY Post today on a player's win at the Tropicana
Atlantic City. The casino had raised the minimum at the table and also
offered him a 20% rebate on any losses. Sure there is more to the story that
is here but still offers some insights.

Great post--now the LVRJ is trying to say that AC is trying to "sex up" to attract more gamblers--I agree with the Post--they're trying to distract the (typically) male card counters. I think the casino is wrong on both counts--any expert BJ player worth his salt aint gonna be distracted by ANYTHING, and second, a lot of good players are female (they're so good they fly under the radar). Which brings me back to VP--I didn't notice the best looking cocktail waitresses to distract us around the full pay VP when I was in Las Vegas...any opinions???

It's been my greatest complaint about playing at the Palms. Sometimes the distractions are so omni-present it's hard to get out hands.

I doubt if it causes me errors, but it sure takes a few hands off the old HPH. I complained once to the casino manager, "Hay look I have a complaint!" "Yes"..."Your staff is a bit too good looking and it's very distracting. Any chance you could hire more people that look like you?"

He laughed a lot.

If your bankroll is greater than the limit the casino will allow you to win before they cut you off, the odds are in your favor.
