A Curious Question Re: Lowering Playing Denomination

I've cut back my VP play by at least 90%, perhaps more. Something else has
been proving to be outrageously more profitable, particularly after two
straight years of getting absolutely creamed at VP (all 99.9% or better before
slotclub bennies). Those two years saw Royals numbering zero. Still play once
in a while but so infrequently that it takes some time at VPW and/or WinPoker
to brush up on strategy.
Got bigger fish to fry. But I do still enjoy reading the vpFREE posts,
particularly the more amusing discussions such as what names to give to games that
are all simply Ugly Ducks.

Thanks for your reply.Your "90 %cutting back" story really
addressed my rumination. Guess I should be living in Laughlin :).

So what's more outrageously profitable? Counterfeit bills? LOL

Here's a VP story of earlier times, not quite as profitable
as using counterfeits, but reasonably close for a lot less
risk:

I forget what year it was.... but it was around the time
that bill readers were first being installed around LV.

A local player discovered a 5$ denomination
VP machine that gave 100 credits for a $100 bill.

I do know this player but have never queried him about that
situation. Perhaps the many years that have passed will
make such a question less of an intrusion. Next time
I see him, I'll ask.

Just last week a different player that I know discovered
a machine that had a high maximum coin bet. But, the
payouts for the normal 5-coin bet were incorrectly set
to be the same as for max coin bet for all hands of quads
and higher. Just for fun I ran the payouts through WinPoker
to calculate the return.... it was greater than 300%.

G'luck all,
