A couple more things re New Orleans

A forgot to mention a couple other things. Only good VP I found was 3/5/10
play NSU and 9/6 JB $1 in high roller area. I couldn't find any 9/6 JB
otherwise. There are some progressives in the VP area which might be worth a
look. I hit one single line only to lose $ and more on 5 play NSU and other games.

They keep the casino and some hotel lobbies and other places extremely cold.
Apparently this is to reduce the awful humidity, but as a result, I had to
buy a sweatshirt to wear over my summer tops. I suggest bringing a jacket of
some sort with you, even in the summer, if you get cold easily.

N.O. also gets a lot of rainstorms (high humidity!) so you may also want to
bring an umbrella.

A host can arrange limo pickup and departure at airport. However, we had a
problem with our limo being missing on arrival (apparently we arrived a
little late), but did get taken by a different limo waiting for another person who
never showed.

We ate at Morton Steakhouse - bad service - not recommended. Also
Restaurant August -- excellent restaurant and great service. Harrah's now has an
Asian restaurant on premisis but it isn't very good - has Chinese and sushi bar.
Our waitress brought some wrong orders (she didn't seem to understand
English too well). Decor looks like a snack bar. Besh Steakhouse is a more
upscale restaurant with good food. New Orleans has many great restaurants, so
expect to eat well. The Harrah's buffet is quite good and open almost 24 hrs (a
few breaks in there). Regular breakfast is pretty much just breakfast food.
Sunday Champagne brunch has more food after 9:30 a.m.

Diamond lounge has cheese and light snacks after 4pm weekdays; hot
appetizers about 7pm. Hours are short - something like 4-2pm daily, maybe 2-2 on
weekends. Ask. No free internet.

We found free internet on 4th floor of Windsor Court - room open 24 hrs a
day - just walk in. They also have printers. We loved the Windsort Court.
Beautiful suite. Had "English tea" for $25 per person plus tax and tip - were
able to charge to room and use Reward credits to pay for it.

There are two multi-line 9/6 JOB and a few single line 9/6 JOB
machines located in the regular (i.e. not high limit) VP area. These
are all dollar (and up) machines. Also, last time I checked, at
least one of the Multi-Strike machines had 9/6 JOB in quarters. I
count approx. 10 playable machines in the entire casino, plus a few
progressives which sometimes become interesting. 99% of the other
people I see playing VP in there couldn't care less, as long as they
have their Double Double Bonus.

Here's an amusing observation: There are three dollar "stand alone"
progressives in a row in the regular VP area. These machines have
identical pay tables except for the progressives on the Royals, which
are all different (i.e. - they are not linked). More often than not,
you will see someone playing one of these three machine while one of
the others with a higher value Royal sits empty. You've got to
wonder what these people are thinking.
