A couple hits progressive at same time

At a bar at Sante Fe Friday night, a husband and wife sitting next to each other both hit a progressive royal flush in diamonds at the same time, and both screens showed the same jackpot amount of around $2600. The casino determined that 1 of them hit the royal 2 seconds before the other but they said they had to pay the full amount to both people. The casino didn't try to weasel out of it and they paid quickly.

1 royal was dealt and the other was a 2 card draw and the card sequences were different.

Which bar was it?

I’ve always wondered what would happen in a situation like this, and my argument would have been that, in case of any discrepancy, you ought to be entitled to the payout that was on your screen when you began the hand (vs after the draw).

Glad to know that at least here both screens showed the full jackpot amount (you could envision one of them showing the reset value depending on the programming), and that the casino promptly paid accordingly!

Glad to hear that a Stations casino did the right thing. Surprised but glad.
