A Comp question

New to all this and was wondering about the following:

Generally speaking, if you purchase a room package through a
hotel/casino (not through a third party) and the hotel/casino charges
your credit card for the full the amount of the package in advance,
is there any chance of getting reimbursed for that package at the end
of your stay based on play that would normally take care of your room
and maybe some of your meals? Or since money has changed hands,
would the best you could hope for be to have any meals charged to
your room picked up?

Thanks.

I'll reply based upon my experience at LV Hilton. It is
extraordinarily difficult to get a prepaid package comped after the
fact. At LVH, hotel room packages are handled by a totally separate
entity than casino marketing.

If you expect to look for a room comp at a new property, your best bet
is to call casino marketing, explain that you're an active player and
would like to come in at a discounted casino rate. That casino rate
may very well be less attractive than the package rate available to
you, but at least you can get it comped.

Plus, it gives you an introduction to player marketing right at the
outset of your trip.
