A.C. Ballys Showboat Borgata

Arrived in A.C. last Tuesday. Went to the Borgata desk to try to get
a Black Card based on my Harrahs diamond status. Booth woman gave it
to me, then noticed that my diamond card was from Harrahs Reno (I'd
earned it recently with $20K diamond-in-a-day on $1 bartop FP JOB
there). Borgata woman said that the Black Card deal is only for
people who'd earned premium status at a competing *A.C.* casino. But
since she'd already given me one, I could keep it.

Getting black card comes with one comped night, but she said I
couldn't get it immediately, it'd take some days to process. I did
get $50 free play to use immediately. And the $5 parking fee would
also be waived.

Played a couple hours of quarter Multi Strike JOB. Then putzed around
for 10 or 20 minutes on that new hold'em challenge game (I have
little idea how to play correctly, but I do play hold'em, so I think
I made good guesses). Likewise a quick hit on 3x JOB Super Times Pay,
inferior payback (9/5), but I love STP. Then 30min to an hour of 50-
cent JOB (in non-smoking area, it's NOT progressive as shown on
Skip's site, the machine is only progressive on one of the lesser
games on the machine).

My mother played with me at all of these, at a much slower rate. At
the end of that play, we had $21 comp dollars, & the black card
allows buffet for just $10 each comp dollars. A great benefit! The
Borg buffet is wonderful, the best I've found in A.C. Virginia City
buffet at Wild West is also good, but I'd still give the nod to Borg.

(Ended up ahead a couple hundred bucks, thanks mostly to several full
houses on upper levels of multi-strike.)

Checked into Ballys for a day, early Tues eve. Night had been comped
by talking to a host (I've played ~$10K/day coin-in on previous
visits). They said Ballys tower was full, put us in Claridge tower,
the room was adequate but not nearly as nice as Ballys.

Nice games at Ballys, FP JOB $1 prog, 3x quarter multi-play bonus
progressive, & 3x $1 multi-play double deuces which I played with
fear & trembling but won $100+ thanks to several quads & a straight
flush).

Walked to Showboat & got some cashback from my play just a few days
earlier (as I had at Ballys). I guess the cashback worked because my
play a few days earlier had been the prior calendar month? At
Showboat, very comfy $1 FP JOB (the big problem with Ballys is
uncomfy uprights for the games I played, except for the 3x $1).

Had dinner in Showboat diamond lounge, quite nice, much moreso than
Reno's, everything free including alcohol, & I don't think they
charged my comp account.

If you have diamond status at Harrah's, even if earned via the "diamond in a day" route, you can just get another card from any property. This way you can show a diamond card from the AC properties and not have to worry about stressing out the boothlings.
