98.98% DDB Old Poker Room Mohegan....Do these still exist?

98.98% DDB

These are listed on the VPFree database at the $1 level at Mohegan, supposedly in the Old Poker Room of the Earth Casino. Do they still exist, and do they pay points at 1 for $270, or do they pay no points? Any info appreciated, thanks.

They are somewhere, I'm not sure where, but give no points.

I am at Mohegan Sun now.

I investigated your request, briefly in the Earth-Casino.

This pay-schedule DDB is still available at 25cent and $1, at the bar tops on both sides of Macao-Baccarat area. (the Lodge Bar and the Harvest Moon Bar; on the far end of each bar 3-4 machines). Machines are DEFINITELY NO POINTS.

I'll be here until Saturday, if you need anything else investigated.

I'm 90% a table player, and IMO, the best play now (for the month of May) is 2x points May 1-31 at baccarat. (any baccarat EXCEPT Macao-Baccarat).

Cheers, Michael

Michael,
I haven't been to MS since Sept.( and don't plan to ),however I am curious..

How are they comping table( BJ,craps, bac.) players ?

Also what is it about Macau Bac. that makes it excluded from the 2x promo ?

With regard to MS and table game comping. I think they are relatively fair. I find the comp earning to 'basically' be equivalent to what I earn for tables at Borgata; and they will do discretionary (non-earned point) comps. Caveat, I only play baccarat and craps. Also, I'm a relatively small player ($150'ish average bet).

Also, as a mostly "solo" gambler who likes premium alcohol; the choices at the VIP lounges at Mohegan really work for me. It's a perk that is of very decent value (to me).

I also perceive that with the downgrades in comp'ing for VP; things have actually gotten better for table players. Perhaps, MS feels they have "killed" their not-profitable VP players, and are willing to give more to what they deem to be "valuable" customers. (of course, my eyes roll a bit as I type this)

For me, it turns out to be a decent place since I like to play 5%-10% VP, and basically tables. I earn my comps+rooms from tables, and then can still enjoy good full pay (and bar top) VP at the quarter and dollar level. I would never had played enough VP (even under the old more generous comp system) for it to have much of an impact (on my comps) anyway.

Why is Macao-Baccarat excluded? My personal opinion, the game plays too slow. Since the players face the cards, it's not unusual to have one shoe take 2,3, 4 hours. Also, perhaps, the average bets are very high (only $100 tables); so the players are "higher end" and this promo is really aimed at the "masses" and Chinese bus crowds ($15 and $25 mini-baccarat tables).

Thanks for replying. To me, $150 bet is not too small. I was getting reports that table players were being comped basically the same as the former VP was..i.e., approx. $150 of action = 1 comp dollar. Of course at the tables the ratings are much more subjective than at a machine.

In a very very general sense. You probably earn $15 to $20 in comps per hour for a $100 average bet. But, I can't really speak to blackjack; that's my very general observation at craps and baccarat. Since most people play blackjack (I personally HATE blackjack); perhaps someone else can chime in.

Do remember, Mohegan+Foxwoods pay CT 25% of slot/vp revenue but they pay zero (0%) on table game revenue.

I know people don't like to hear this; but the days of "good" comps for 9/6JoB and such have probably come to an end. I know places like SouthPoint in Vegas (and other local casinos) seem to take care of people who still play FP low variance VP; but I've also observed a major decline in comps also in Atlantic City. Of course, things are always changing, and I don't pay a huge amount of attention to video poker. So perhaps, my observations are to particularly qualified.
