If I were on the board choosing a new conductor for the NYPO and it came
down to the above names I wonder which guy would be best for the job in my mind.

Arturo Toscanini was hated by his musicians because he demanded such
perfection. A story goes that he was in a bathroom stall during a rehersal break and
overheard two of his musicians agree, "That Toscanini is a bastard" The
conductor said silently to himself, "I'm good."

Which one of you guys would I want for the USA Olympic swimming coach?

Which one of you guys would I want to take a video poker class from?

I think your analogy doesn't apply all too well to VP. In VP there
are many aspects that lead to success. Perfect play is only one of
them and then adhering to all the penalty card situations is even a
smaller factor. As Bob has now clarified he believes different
techniques work well for different individuals. The point was that
not everyones' goals are the same.

Very often the best teachers are not in the top 5% in their
respective fields. This is true in almost every sport and is probably
true in VP as well. Having given my share of classes in the past I
know I will never be a great teacher even though I knew and
understood the material I was teaching very well. Being a great
teacher takes a completely different set of skills.
